Destinations Career Academy is thrilled to announce our October Students of the Month,  selected by our dedicated school administration and teachers. These exceptional  individuals have demonstrated outstanding academic achievements, positive  contributions to their pathways, and a strong commitment to their education. 

Agriculture & Natural Resources: Athena Kowalke 

This month, we are proud to recognize Athena Kowalke, a graduating senior who has truly  been a rockstar in the classroom! She consistently turns in outstanding  work, participates with positivity and purpose, and sets the standard for what it means to  be a model student in the Agriculture & Natural Resources Pathway. Her dedication,  leadership, and enthusiasm make our learning community stronger every  day. Congratulations, Athena—thank you for shining so brightly! 

Agriculture & Natural Resources: Kiara Thompson 

Kiara Thompson: Kiara has been doing very well at DCA. She is an active member of class  and participates fantastically in class. Her hard work ethic will lead her to whatever she  chooses to do in the future. 

Kiara has also been nominated as the OVERALL Student of the Month across ALL  Pathways!

Business Management & Administration: Delia Tyler 

Delia Tyler is our Student of the Month for the Business Management and Administration  pathway because she’s a great communicator who isn’t afraid to speak up, ask questions,  and reach out to teachers when she needs help. Delia shows strong self-advocacy and an  eagerness to learn every day. Her positive attitude and willingness to grow makes her an  awesome part of our school. Keep it up! 

Business Management & Administration: Payton Jansky 

Payton is an active member in all of his classes. He takes his education seriously and has a  great work ethic. He will do well in all of his future endeavors.  

Construction & Engineering: Alex Rosario-Vazquez 

Please join us in congratulating Alex Rosario-Vazquez for being named our Construction  Pathway Student of the Month! Alex is going above and beyond by taking four construction  classes in a single semester, showing dedication to his learning that is truly impressive. His  work is consistently completed with care and thoughtful reflection. Through his written  responses, Alex demonstrates a strong understanding of the content and uses critical  thinking to inquire deeper into the subject matter. Alex’s commitment to growing his skills  and knowledge is clearly reflected in his work, and he is actively building a strong  foundation for his future in the trades. Keep building your future one skill at a time, Alex! 

Health Sciences: Jack Nimsomboon 

This month’s Health Sciences Student of the Month is Jack. Jack always has  outstanding engagement in class. They consistently participate in class discussions, ask  thoughtful and insightful questions, and push themselves to think more deeply about  course material. Their curiosity and passion for learning deserves to be celebrated. Keep  the questions coming, Jack! 

Health Sciences: Joselyn Escobedo 

Joselyn has been thriving at DCA. Joselyn consistently completes all her assignments at a  high level, with care and reliability. She is a dedicated and independent student with a  strong work ethic. Her commitment to her education will continue to lead to great things! 

Information Technology: Felipe Reyes  

Felipe Reyes is our Student of the Month for his exceptional performance and positive  attitude in the IT Pathway. Felipe is an active participant during class connects,  contributing insightful questions and ideas that enhance the learning experience for  everyone. Felipe advocates for self and always communicates with positive intent, whether 

seeking clarification or helping peers. Felipe’s academic achievements and strong  technical skills are evident in his consistent work. Felipe’s dedication, work ethic, and  collaborative spirit make Felipe a standout student, and we are proud to recognize their  continued success. 

Law and Criminal Justice: Sinclaire Shaw 

From her first criminal justice careers exploratory course to our capstone class,  Criminology, Sinny has consistently shown strong academic ability,  maturity, and enthusiasm for the fields of Forensic Science and Criminal Justice. 

From the start, she approached complex material with curiosity and determination. Her  work is thoughtful, detail-oriented, and demonstrates a strong capacity for critical  thinking. In class discussions, she brings a balanced perspective that reflects both empathy and analytical insight. She has a clear sense of purpose and a sincere desire to  pursue a career rooted in understanding human behavior, justice, and crime.
