Technical FAQs

Do I need to have access to a computer to attend?
Yes. Students attending DCAWI require access to a computer, printer, and related technology. Families/students who do not have such technology may contact DCA for a loaned computer system (including a laptop computer and printer) to support the learning process.
What computer skills are required?
The Learning Coach needs to have at least basic computer skills. Use of the computer is an important part of the online school program. High school students are most successful if they have basic computer skills.
Do I need high speed internet access to attend?
No. Although high-speed internet access makes the experience of learning online much more satisfying, it is not necessary. Unfortunately, some geographic areas do not have high-speed access available. However, for those areas that do, it is the preferred type of access for the program. Students who do not have internet access may contact DCA to request (upon completion of required forms, updated Point of Contact information, etc.) a wireless internet card and/or other means of internet access..
How do I get technical support?
DCA families needing customer care or technical support for computers or the online school can call 866.512.2273 (select option 2).
What are the minimum computer hardware and software requirements?
To participate in the DCA program, computers need to follow the technical specs listed here.
