Destinations Career Academy is thrilled to announce our January Students of the Month, selected by our dedicated school administration and teachers. These exceptional individuals have demonstrated outstanding academic achievements, positive contributions to their pathways, and a strong commitment to their education.

Agriculture s Natural Resources: Khalia Adams

This month we are proud to recognize Khalia Adams, a student who consistently goes above and beyond in both academics and leadership. She excels in the classroom by turning in high-quality work, actively engaging in discussions, and demonstrating curiosity and dedication to learning. Beyond Khalia’s coursework, she is an active member of the DCA Student Council, serving as President, contributing positively to our school community and serving as a role model for her peers. Khalia’s hard work, enthusiasm, and leadership truly embody the values of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Pathway. Congratulations Khalia!

Business Management s Administration: Nyasa Patel

Nyasa Patel is an exceptional student who consistently demonstrates determination, resilience, and a strong commitment to academic growth. She approaches every challenge with a never give up mindset and makes the most of her experience at DCA by enrolling in rigorous coursework, taking and pursuing industry recognized Microsoft Office Specialist certifications. Nyasa is also participating in the Early College Credit Program, where college level courses through UW Milwaukee and a dual credit class at Madison College are incorporated into her high school course load. Her engagement, curiosity, and positive contributions strengthen classroom discussions and enhance the learning experience for those around her. Nyasa truly exemplifies what it means to be a motivated and future ready student in the Business Marketing pathway.

Construction s Engineering: Nathanael Joren

Please join us in congratulating Nathanael Joren for being named our Construction Pathway Student of the Month! Nathanael is striving for Academic success, showing dedication to his learning that is truly impressive. He consistently brings deep thought to all his answers in class, providing a solid basis for our in-class discussions, in turn he challenges other students to engage thoughtfully as well. Nathanael demonstrates a strong understanding of class content, as well as the world around him. Nathanael’s commitment to growing his skills and knowledge is clearly reflected in his dedication to his schoolwork, as he is actively building a strong foundation for his future. Keep up the hard work, Nathanael.

Nathanael has also been selected as the OVERALL Student of the Month for January across all pathways!

Construction and Engineering: Maya Cervantes

Maya Cervantes is a junior here at Destinations Career Academy. She has all A’s and B’s this year and is planning on graduating early by taking extra classes to graduate next January. Maya has a job outside of school working at Michael’s arts store. Maya really enjoys drawing and has drawn some backgrounds for some animes. At home she loves taking care of her animals in which she has several different kinds and also takes care of her siblings. Maya’s plans after college is to go to Lakeshore Technical College to pursue a degree in psychology. Maya really enjoys spending time with her family and is a very loving, caring and devoted family member.

Health Sciences: Hazmin Ochoa

Hazmin Ochoa is a student that embodies perseverance and dedication. Hazmin approaches their Health Sciences courses with determination and a positive attitude, even when faced with challenges. Through hard work, responsibility, and a willingness to keep pushing forward, Hazmin continues to make meaningful progress and sets a strong example for others. Her persistence and focus reflect the qualities essential to success in the health sciences field, making her a deserving Student of the Month.

Information Technology: Aiden Canon

Aiden Canon is the IT Pathway student of the month. He stands out in the IT pathway for staying engaged in class and always putting in the effort to learn. Aiden takes advantage of office hours to ask questions and build his skills, showing real dedication to improving.

In addition, Aiden serves as the NTHS Communications Director, taking on leadership responsibilities while earning career certifications along the way. His motivation, initiative, and positive attitude make him a great choice for Student of the Month.

Information Technology: Travis Griffith

Travis has worked hard to keep up with his school work and progress further in his pathway. He has been very attentive to what he needs to accomplish and will self advocate for himself when he does require help. He has been a great addition to our resource classes and I have no doubt he will do well in the future.

Law and Criminal Justice: Patrick Belongie

Our student of the month for January is Patrick Belongie. Patrick joined us at the start of this year, and he has excelled at DCA this semester. Patrick is reliable and always ready to participate in classes. He is a good self-advocate and asks good questions! Patrick is also organized and completes high quality work and keeps up with it! He is a role model for other students, and he is a pleasure for teachers to work with!

Law and Criminal Justice: Allan Sanchez Torres

Allan Sanchez Torres works hard to overcome personal barriers in the school environment and consistently demonstrates a strong commitment to his education. He is willing to go above and beyond in his classes, putting in extra effort to understand challenging material and complete his work to the best of his ability. Allan has shown that through hard work and perseverance, real growth is possible—he does not give up when things are difficult and continues to push himself to improve. His positive attitude, determination, and resilience make him a great role model for his peers.
