Katie Jacobson continues to make a strong impact both inside and outside of the classroom during her third year at DCA. Through her leadership, work ethic, and positive classroom presence, she has become an outstanding example of student success and involvement.
One of Katie’s biggest accomplishments this year was qualifying for the Future Business Leaders of America National Leadership Conference in Project Management. She earned first place at the Regional Competition to advance to State, where she placed third overall in Wisconsin and secured her spot as a national qualifier. Her success reflects the dedication, and professionalism she brings to everything she does.
Katie Jacobson is also part of the Youth Apprenticeship program, a partnership between school and local employers that provides students with real world career experience while earning school credit. Through this program, she works at a furniture store in Hayward where she manages the company website, creates social media promotions, and assists with customer service. Her ability to apply classroom learning in an authentic business setting demonstrates both responsibility and career readiness.
Academically, Katie challenges herself with a rigorous course schedule that includes dual credit college opportunities and industry certification courses. In live classes, she consistently contributes by coming on mic, sharing ideas, and encouraging discussion among classmates. Katie does not simply attend class, she makes a presence and helps create a positive learning environment for others.
