Destinations Career Academy is thrilled to announce our October Students of the Month, selected by our dedicated school administration and teachers. These exceptional individuals have demonstrated outstanding academic achievements, positive contributions to their pathways, and a strong commitment to their education.

Agriculture s Natural Resources: Ava Aguilar

Ava Aguilar is crushing her senior year! Throughout her time at DCA, she’s been a standout student—always turning in quality work, participating in class, and setting a positive example. She’s also active in FFA and balances school, work, and life with amazing dedication. Congratulations, Ava, on being our November Student of the Month for the Agriculture C Natural Resources Pathway!

Business Management s Administration: Peyton Washington

Peyton Washington is a dedicated and hardworking student in the Business Management C Administration Pathway. This year, she’s taking Accounting 1 and continues to impress with her commitment to doing her best. Peyton is usually the first to arrive for class—bright and early at 8 a.m.—and always comes prepared to learn. She turns in her work on time, pays close attention in class, and isn’t afraid to ask questions or contribute to discussions.

Peyton’s positive attitude and strong work ethic make her a wonderful role model for her classmates and a valued student in the business pathway.

Construction s Engineering: Ibrahim Bare

Ibrahim Bare is the Construction C Engineering Pathway Student of the Month. Ibrahim is an outstanding example of dedication and positivity in the classroom. He is consistently focused on his schoolwork and demonstrates a strong determination to understand his coursework fully. When he encounters challenges, he takes initiative by asking thoughtful questions and actively engaging in class discussions. His participation enriches the learning environment for everyone. In addition to his academic commitment, he is always kind, respectful, and considerate toward both peers and teachers. Ibrahim truly embodies the qualities of a Student of the Month through his hard work, curiosity, and character.

Construction s Engineering: Jadiel Romero

I am nominating Jadiel Romero for Student of the Month because he believes that education is an important part of being successful.

Here is a writing sample that shows how seriously he takes his education:

“Some people think a high school diploma isn’t that important anymore, and sure, there are famous success stories of people who made itbig without one. But formost of us,finishing high school is still a smart move. It helps you get better jobs, apply to college or trade school, and shows that you can stick with something until the end. Yeah, there are other ways to learn and grow, but getting that diploma usually gives you a stronger start in life. It’s not the only path to success, but it’s definitely one of the most dependable ones.”

Jadiel consistently responds to communications and demonstrates a strong willingness to listen and stay on track with his work when in one-on-one settings. In addition to his success in school, he also has a job in sales. Keep up the great work, Jadiel; you are on the right path!

Health Sciences: Devi Montoya

Devi Montoya demonstrates outstanding dedication and enthusiasm for learning. She brings professionalism and genuine passion for learning health sciences related content. Showcasing her dedication to the field, she has recently won the role of president for HOSA – Future Health Professionals. Her compassion and commitment to health sciences make Devi the perfect student of the month. Keep up the great work, Devi!

Information Technology: Luna Santiago

Luna Santiago has been selected as the IT Pathway Student of the Month for her outstanding achievements and leadership. She was the first student this year to successfully earn her Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Word Certification. What truly sets Luna apart is her willingness to share her certification experience with others, helping her peers understand the process and inspiring them to reach their own goals. Her initiative, positive attitude, and natural leadership have earned her recognition not only in the classroom but also as an officer in the National Technical Honor Society. Luna consistently embraces challenges and encourages those around her to be their best, serving as a true example of excellence in the IT Pathway.

Law and Criminal Justice: Emilee Tolbert

Emilee has demonstrated outstanding self-advocacy skills this semester. She has consistently used feedback to improve her work, and she asks for clarification when she needs it. She will revisit and revise work to demonstrate her continued growth and learning. Emily’s tenacity and work ethic have really shined through in her work and communication.

**Emilee has also been selected as the OVERALL Student of the Month across all pathways for November!**

Law and Criminal Justice: Kaylee Romero

Kaylee Romero is a dedicated student and strong self-advocate. She consistently puts forth effort and prioritizes school. She communicates with her teachers when she has a question or needs support and is always respectful and responsible.
