Tanya Steger

Tanya Steger came to Destinations at the beginning of the 2013–2014 school year. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cardinal Stritch University and her master’s degree in educational psychology from UW-Milwaukee in 2001. Before she became a school counselor, Tanya was a member of the intake staff in the behavioral medicine department at hospitals in the Milwaukee area and served as a residential counselor in the eating disorder unit at Rogers Memorial Hospital. She currently resides in central Wisconsin with her husband, son, and chocolate lab, Slider. She loves hanging out with her boys, spending quality time with friends, traveling the world, gardening, researching all aspects of wellness, doing puzzles, and playing board games. 


Mission

The mission of the school counseling department at Destinations Career Academy of Wisconsin is to establish relationships with all students by offering support in their academic, career, and personal/social development. Through key partnerships, our counselors ensure that all students receive an individualized plan that maximizes students’ strengths and is tailored toward their postsecondary aspirations.
